Who we help
Accounting for Foreign-Owned Companies in Bulgaria
Most of our clients have never set foot in the Sofia tax office and never will. They incorporated in Bulgaria for the 10% corporate rate and EU access, they run the business from somewhere else, and they need someone here who catches things before they become problems.
What usually goes wrong
Notices arrive in Bulgarian, on a deadline
The National Revenue Agency writes in Bulgarian and expects a response within a fixed period. If nobody reads it the week it arrives, the window closes and the assessment stands. We monitor your company's electronic mailbox and act on what lands there.
Nobody told you the obligations started immediately
Formation agents register the company and disappear. Monthly declarations begin regardless. We routinely take over companies carrying eighteen months of accumulated non-filing penalties that nobody knew about.
Your home country has questions too
Where a company is genuinely managed affects where it is taxed. If every decision is taken from Berlin or Dubai, a Bulgarian registration alone may not settle the matter. We flag this early rather than after a foreign tax authority raises it.
Substance is the question that actually matters
A Bulgarian company that exists only as a registration is increasingly fragile. Tax authorities in your country of residence look at where management decisions are made, where contracts are signed, and whether the company has real operations — not at where the certificate was issued.
We are not going to pretend this problem away. What we can do is tell you honestly what your structure looks like from the outside, and what would need to be true for it to hold up. Some clients build real substance here; others conclude Bulgaria was the wrong answer. Both are better outcomes than finding out during an audit.
How remote clients work with us
Documents go into a shared folder or arrive by email. Filings are made with our electronic signature under a power of attorney, so you are not required to obtain a Bulgarian e-signature or be present for anything routine.
You get a monthly summary in English and a direct line to the person doing the work — not a ticketing system.
Services you are most likely to need

Corporate tax
Annual returns, advance instalments and planning around the 10% flat corporate rate.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in Bulgaria to run a Bulgarian company?
No. Management can be exercised from abroad and filings are handled locally under a power of attorney. Be aware, however, that if all real decisions are taken in your country of residence, that country may claim the company is tax resident there.
What happens if my company has not filed for a year or more?
It is fixable. We reconstruct the missing periods, file the outstanding declarations, quantify the penalties and, where grounds exist, appeal them. The cost of doing this is almost always lower than the cost of another year of silence.
Can you deal with the tax office on my behalf?
Yes. Under a power of attorney we file, correspond and represent your company before the National Revenue Agency, including during inspections.
